Installation :
Below is a description to install Falcon 4 and apply patches until
1.08i2.
(Until 1.08i2 because this is the last official patch)
- Create space for your installation
- Falcon requires at least 175 MB, but I can recommend you to create a
different partition on you hard disk for easier and quicker
defragmentation (See Tips and Tricks)
- Insert the Falcon 4.0 CD in your CD and select install Falcon 4
- Start setup.exe if your CD doesn't start automaticly.
- Select and install the required components until setup is finished.
- Download (if you did'nt do it allready) the Falcon 4 1.08 update
- Select a download site from Falcon Links
- If you have the US version this file is : "F4108US.EXE" by
default.
- Run and install the Falcon 4 1.08 patch
- Download (if you did'nt do it allready) the Falcon 4 1.08i2 update
- Select a download site from Falcon Links
- If you have the US version this file is : "F4108i2.zip" by
default.
- Unzip, Setup or start the Falcon 4 1.08i2 patch
- Copy the the file "F4108i2.EXE" to the directory where you
installed Falcon 4
Your Falcon is now patched to Falcon 4 1.08i2, but there are a couple of tips
:
- For quicker file access :
- Restart your computer
- Open the Windows Explorer
- Right click with your mouse on the drive where Falcon 4 is installed
- Select Properties
- Go to the second TAB and choose DEFRAGMENTATION,
this can take a while but it's worth it.
- Change shortcut to Falcon 4
- After installing the patch 1.08i2 the program you should start is :
"F4108i2.EXE" therefore you can :
- Create a shortcut to your desktop
- Right click with your mouse on the f4108i2.exe
- Choose :"Sent To" >> "Desktop (Create
shortcut)"
(There are a couple of other tips and tricks right after installation, see
the Falcon 4 Tips and Tricks before running
Falcon 4)
After this reset your system and : "The Sky Is The Limit !!"
