Breaking News about the major European Military Flightsim event. 

15 & 16 November 2003, the LowLand Tiger Meet 2003 (LAN-party). This will be the 5th edition of this event. Competitors from: Russia, Germany, Belgium, France, England, Austria, Sweden & The Netherlands will enter the virtual sky for the ultimate V-pilot challenge. The official IL2FB European Championship (supported by Ubi-soft), The Dutch open Falcon4 championship, LockOn demo, Pitbuilders and plenty free flights. 

We're proud to announce we've got a new location for this event. The editions before we've used the Military Aviation Museum, this time we've transferred the whole event to a brand new (and larger) location: The Aviodrome Aviation Theme Park, a new aviation museum in The Netherlands. That means we can reopen the signup forms (we don't have to act with a signup stop at 125 competitors). This is great news for all people that want to join this event. Het 118 TFS 'Dutch Reapers' zal dit jaar wederom aanwezig zijn op de HCC dagen 2003. Wij zullen hier aanwezig zijn onder de vleugels van de Flight Simulator Gebruikers Groep (FSGG) en demonstraties geven over het vliegen met Falcon 4. Tijdens deze dagen is er natuurlijk de mogelijkheid voor iedereen om vragen te stellen over het vliegen met Falcon 4.
(Andere leden van de FSGG zijn thuis in diverse andere simulators met als bekendste Microsoft Flight Simulator).

This post is to provide an update to the Falcon Community and to express my many thanks for your commitment, devotion, loyalty and patience. Consistent with continuing the Falcon tradition, we are entering a new era in Falcon's history and its development.

Falcon Gold: Operation Infinite Resolve is near completion and will soon be ready for shipment nationwide.

We are in the final stages of testing and expect Falcon Gold: OIR, to be available for your enjoyment this holiday season!

It has been a long road with a lot of hard work put forth by all involved and I am confident you will find it worth the wait.

I would like to publicly thank the team members for their unrelenting dedication and invaluable contributions in creating the most advanced real time non-classified military combat flight simulator available (without a military commitment) on planet earth. In addition, to the community, thank you for the encouragement and good wishes, we could not have done this without it.

As Falcon has done from the beginning, Falcon Gold will continue to set the standard for all other flight simulators and prove to be the true benchmark to beat in the “Hyper Realistic” military flight simulator environment.

I hope that everyone here is as excited about this project as the team and I are. We have worked long and hard to make Falcon Gold: OIR the best product it can be and we are sure that you will enjoy it for years to come.

As it always does, I expect this posting to generate an abundance of questions in reference to this project; as such, Stang (Tejay Beauparlant, stang@g2interactive.com ) and Robert Hughes (narphous@g2interactive.com ) have convinced me that it is time for the community to start getting regular updates and information and screen shots. They will be posting an announcement message within the next 48 hours with all the details concerning this.

Again, thank you very much for your patience and loyalty in helping to keep the Falcon Series as the yardstick of which all other military flight simulators are measured.

FreeFalcon 2 has been released by the FreeFalcon Development Group.

A few notes from the Release notes :

Free Falcon 2 is an add-on to SP3 for Falcon 4.0. Features of FF2 are:

1. Upgraded flight models of many aircraft.
2. Additional aircraft, ships, ground units and weapons.
3. Multiple improved 3D models and textures for many aircraft, ships, ground units and objects.
4. Improved air tasking and weapons load-outs for campaigns.
5. Improved “hit boxes” for aircraft and objects.
6. Improved damage values for objectives as well as improved damage effects of certain weapons.
7. Spawning (parking) of aircraft at airfields prior to taking off and after landing.
8. Improved naval units, including more realistic task forces, ship damage modeling and the ability of ships to engage aircraft from long range.
9. Improved SAM activity, including several new air defense units and shipboard SAM systems.
10. Improved ground units selection list for TEs.
11. Improved missile and engine smoke trails.
12. Additional new aircraft added to the dogfight sectio
    

 

Just a few day's after the release of F4-BMS 0.5 the benchmarksims have released the 0.6 beta for F4-BMS. This release includes a download for Freefalcon2 and Superpack3.

In an effort to improve Falcon 4.0, Benchmarksims.com has retained an agreement with G2Interactive Inc., to modify the Falcon 4.0 source code and to provide a free of charge, free to download executable to the community.


Major contributors to Falcon include the RP Group, Eteam, the Unified Team, and Free Falcon. We are VERY sensitive to the work done by these groups, and as such, have gone through great pains to maintain the integrity of that work. We would also like to thank the various community members that helped with the initial testing.


That said, we submit to you, the community, a modified SP3 executable, that we humbly feel incorporates some of the graphical enhancements and fixes that we have all been hoping for. However, please note that this is a beta release, and as such, there may very well be bugs, including incompatabilities with some graphics cards. Therefore, PLEASE!! report all bugs and send your crashlogs to f4@benchmarksims.com.


We will be working these issues out, and adding new features and fixes on a daily basis, and you can therefore expect regular releases from us.

An interessting interview with Chris "Washout" Carter on Frugalsworld tell's us that Falcon 4 SP4 will be in beta shortly !!!!
